H. Boen

Founder - CEO

H. Boen, the visionary Founder of BamFor and a seasoned Serial Entrepreneur, has an impressive track record of building and selling information technology companies in Indonesia. His focus in these ventures was to enhance efficiency for businesses by reducing their reliance on paper processes. His innovative solutions revolutionized how thousands of companies collaborated, significantly minimizing paper usage by nearly 100%. When extending his solutions to international companies and their trading partners, Hans played a pivotal role in saving hundreds of millions of trees and contributing to the preservation of forests against deforestation.

However, what's noteworthy is that over the past three decades, while these companies achieved remarkable savings, the environmental impact of these efforts was largely under the radar. These accomplishments were primarily acknowledged as improvements in operational efficiency and cost savings for the businesses involved. The concept of sustainability had not yet ascended to a prominent position on their priority lists.

Hans, in the last five years, has made a transformative shift from being an IT entrepreneur to an advocate for the environment and climate. He envisions the venture he's embarked upon with his esteemed partners as a catalyst for bringing about significant change in this arena.

D. Hartono

Advisory

D. Hartono is at the helm of PT Rimba Makmur Utama (PT RMU), an Indonesian-based company spearheading the Katingan Mentaya Project. This monumental endeavor encompasses a 149,800-hectare peatland forest restoration and conservation project situated in Central Kalimantan, Indonesia. Notably, this project stands as the largest Nature-Based Solution endeavor globally, holding the prestigious verification of the Verified Carbon Standard (VCS).

What sets this project apart is its capacity to generate an impressive annual average of 7.5 million triple gold certified carbon credits. To put this into perspective, it's equivalent to the yearly carbon footprint of 2 million cars being taken off the road. Prior to this initiative, the project area faced a looming threat of conversion into an industrial acacia plantation. Given that over 90% of the carbon stock resides in the underlying peat soils, this conversion would have unleashed a substantial amount of carbon into the atmosphere through forest clearance, peat draining, and burning.

Dharsono's leadership has been instrumental in steering this endeavor towards success. He has worked tirelessly to secure project concession permits in collaboration with local and national governments. Moreover, he has been actively engaged in supporting local communities in the project area to transition from extractive activities, such as logging, towards more sustainable pursuits like rattan cultivation, fisheries, and coconut sugar production. PT RMU's partnership with international stakeholders further enhances the project's reach by connecting with carbon buyers abroad. Dharsono's academic foundation is solid, holding a bachelor's degree in Operation Research and a Master of Engineering from Cornell University with a specialization in Financial Engineering.
